Otherwise you run the risk of using strategies will simply bore your customers to tears.

What Customers Care About

Customers care about themselves. If you can provide them with something that solve their daily problems and make their life more enjoyable, all of a sudden they seem to care about your business too. Without giving them something that they really need and want, it’s impossible to get them interested in your business, no matter how professional you appear to be.

Make the customer the number one focus of all your business efforts, and your customers will never get bored. Nobody ever gets bored of themselves. Do this by:

  • Using a marketing message that highlights the benefits customers get by buying your product or service. Instead of providing features that demonstrate that your product is better than the products of your competitors, focus on benefits that have meaning for the customers. How is your product or service going to impact their daily lives?
  • Engage your customers with constant point of contact that are helpful to the customer and interesting. Present these through multiple channels, included print based and online marketing. Build a sense of expectancy and value.
  • Use spicy, even provocative ads but make sure the marketing message isn’t lost in the fun. Let the pros do it for you, even if it will be costs you a little. It’s money well spent.
  • Use an exciting web design. Enhance your website constantly, adding seasonal graphical elements such as Christmas or Valentines Day graphics. You don’t have to redesign your site every year. That would actually be a bad idea, because customers need to feel familiar while browsing your site. But you do need to freshen it up regularly with new content and new graphics.
  • Focus on the green revolution. Customers prefer to deal with ‘green businesses’ that have a reduced carbon footprint, recycle materials and so on. Let your customers know that you’re green, or at least doing your best to become so.
