How to Critically Review Your Brand
Disposing of the bad aspects in your brand is a powerful tool in taking the brand in the direction you want it to go. Before doing that, first identify the aspects that make up your brand. The best person to ask an opinion of is your customer. Building a brand doesn’t happen in just a blink of the eye; devote time to brainstorming how you will build it. Of course, once you have successfully built your brand, you don’t want unforeseen negative aspects to ruin it.
Some common aspects of successful branding that should be reviewed periodically include:
- consistency
- customer awareness
- communication
- creativity
- relevance
- originality
- positioning
- community
- focus
- leadership
- strategy
- product
- punctuality
- public relations
- marketing
These aspects of successful branding should be used as a checklist to keep your brand on track. This list is by no means conclusive and will vary from business to business; however, it will help get you on the right track. Identify the negative aspects of your brand then create an action plan to dispose of them; then continue building your brand. Depending on what is revealed you may need to devote time to correct any negative aspects. It’s common for this to take years of dedication. Once you have reviewed your brand and rectified any problems, the number of satisfied customers who believe in your brand will increase.
