Entrepreneurs are risk takers. The risks you take are almost always calculated, but even so, they remain risks. You have to take risks all the time, whether it’s with a new audacious marketing campaign, a website redesign, or the launch of a new innovative product.
Entrepreneurs are social animals. Being able to cope, no, to enjoy, a bustling lifestyle is a clear sign you’re made to be an entrepreneur. You have to rub shoulders with many people, some of whom you may not really like. This applies to your time spend online, with your partners, as well.
Entrepreneurs are team players. No successful business, not even an online one, is run by one single person. Having to rely on others, to trust them, and to work with them comes with the job. You have to be a team player.
Entrepreneurs are practical idealists. Idealists because they dream business ideas, always aiming for innovation, and practical because they need to convert those visions into tangible products and services. You need to dream as well as to do.
Entrepreneurs are decision makers. A person who cannot choose which theme to use on their business blog – the blue or the green one – is probably not a good decision maker, and hence not a promising entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur, not only do you have to make important decisions on your own, but oftentimes to also do it under pressure.
Entrepreneurs are relentless. Serial entrepreneurs in particular. They are not afraid of failing nearly as much as they are afraid of regretting not having made the most of their opportunities. As an entrepreneur, and especially a serial one, you have to be inexorable.
Entrepreneurs are realistic. Practical idealism aside, good entrepreneurs know when to abandon ship. Many startups fail, some don’t, but still don’t look as if they will make money anytime soon. In that scenario shrewd entrepreneurs shift their focus to a new business.
Entrepreneurs are a ferocious pack. They are born leaders who can work productively with others and who pursue their ideas relentlessly. You’re fortunate if you’re one of them.
